handshake while job interviewingThe interview is an important process for both you and the potential new employee. You want to hire the individual that is qualified and a good fit for your company. The following are a few interviewing tips to help you navigate the interview process.

  • Be Prepared - You don’t want to waste the time of the interviewee, nor do you want to waste your own time. Come into the interview with a list of questions written out. This will ensure that you get the information you need, and will allow for some consistency between the questions you ask in all the interviews.
  • Ask Open Questions - Asking questions that result in yes or no answers won’t help you. They will just frustrate you and the interviewee.
  • Offer a Refreshment - The people you are interviewing can get nervous. It’s only natural. Offer them a drink of water or a coffee to help put them more at ease.
  • Provide the Interviewee with Time for Questions - You should give the individual ten minutes at the end of the interview to ask you any questions about the position or the company.
