The holiday season is here, and for employees all over the country, that can only mean one thing — holiday parties. Dressing for office holiday parties is not always easy. You want to look professional, but you also want to look festive. Here are a few tips to keep in mind while choosing an outfit:

  • Try sticking with a classic look, such as a black skirt and a red or green turtleneck. Add a dazzling necklace or earrings for a touch of holiday pizzazz. You’ll look elegant, but still professional and composed.
  • Dress for the venue. If your holiday party is being held at a conference room at 3:00 pm, business casual wear with some holiday-inspired jewelry is a perfect choice. On the other hand, if you’re attending dinner at an upscale restaurant, a conservative cocktail dress (or suit and tie for men) is acceptable.
  • Men can play up their general workday look by freshly polishing their shoes, wearing a snazzier belt and donning a holiday-inspired tie.
